Perhaps you have great music memories of singing in Choir in high school, or belonged to a Chamber Choir or Glee Club in college. If so, consider joining our LPC Chancel Choir. The Chancel Choir is our primary ensemble for leading worship at Lakewood Presbyterian Church, singing traditional choral music spanning from chant through newly composed works. The choir season runs September through June and is open to all who have a basic ability to read music. Why not give us a “test run” and sit in on a few rehearsals under no obligation? It's a wonderful opportunity to sing great choral literature, meet new friends, and spend some time "feeding your soul." We guarantee you'll leave feeling refreshed and renewed. Praise Band

William Wilson, Leader & Guitarist

Schedule:

Wednesday Practice in the Sanctuary: 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Sunday Worship in the Sanctuary: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Lakewood Presbyterian Church offers a musically diverse worship service on Sunday mornings, combining traditional organ-based hymnody and choir music along with some contemporary praise music. The LPC Praise Band provides contemporary music for these services, as well as music for a few special services throughout the year. On a typical Sunday morning the band plays two “Gathering Songs” at the beginning and sometimes later a praise hymn. When the choir is off for the summer the band plays more.

The purpose of the praise band is to lead worship through an alternative musical style which connects with many in the congregation. We select praise music seeking a balance between familiar songs and the best of new music. Another important criterion is to choose songs which fit our group and meet our music ministry standards.

We welcome comments and song suggestions and talented people interested in joining our group.
