Mission: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to:

  • Nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study

  • Support the mission of the chuch worldwide

  • Work for justice and peace

  • Build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

This well-organized group offers a variety of ways for women (and men!) to get involved in Bible study, fellowship and mission. Some of the many mission projects this group has been involved with include: United Community Outreach Ministry (UCOM), Thornwell Home for Children and the Kay Beckman Seminary Scholarship. These dedicated women truly live LPC’s vision statement: Thinking with Christ’s mind. Loving with Christ’s heart. Serving with Christ’s hands.

The Presbyterian Women of Lakewood collect Campbell’s Soup labels, and Box Tops for Education. Collection boxes are located in the church office, or you can place them in the PW mailbox in the office, or the collection plate on Sunday.

Circle meetings are held monthly from September through June. The schedule of meetings may vary, so check the LPC Monthly Newsletter, This Week at LPC, and LPC Sunday News for meeting dates, times and locations. Circle groups include:

Tuesday Morning Circle

Our Tuesday Morning Circle is our Bible study group which meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Coleman Room. We are currently studying a New Horizons Bible study God’s Promise: I Am With You.

Little Women

This group of the Presbyterian Women is open to young women in the 3rd through 5th grades, with a goal of bridging the generational gaps between younger and older women. We encourage, promote and challenge all women, younger and elderly, during their spiritual journeys while offering the bonds of friendship, support and creative exchange of ideas and information. Please contact Nancy Carlton through the church office for more information.

Circles & Squares

Many years ago, one of our Presbyterian Women’s circles found that the men were hanging around during meetings so much of the time that including them seemed the right thing to do, and “Circles and Squares” was born. This couples dinner group remains a robust and active circle under Presbyterian Women today with 20-30 people in attendance at monthly dinner meetings hosted by members at their homes. Participants bring a salad, entrée or dessert to share with the group. For more information, please contact Joy or Chuck Atkins.

Little Fellas

This group of the Presbyterian Women is open to young men in the 3rd through 5th grades. Please contact Nancy Carlton through the church office for more information.

Knit Wits

A ministry of ladies who knit prayer shawls and lap blankets for those in need of comfort. They generally work on their projects at home, but occasionally in a group. The contact for this group is Ann Sory Meadows.
