In the Heat of the Night

Hi Everyone! This is Katie. Just a quick note to keep things going. We are busy and spending very little time on the computer. The work has been great! We've almost completed a floor inside the addition we are working on. Lots of power tools and hammering!
It was 106 yesterday as we worked. Luckily we are inside mostly and the shade helps a bit. The cookout at the local park was a bit uncomfortable. The real kicker, though, was that the AC went out in the girls sleeping area (there are no windows)! Our FL AC addiction had us in severe withdrawal. We moved our mattresses down into the gym, where it was a bit cooler, and slept down there. The air seems to have kicked back in overnight, thank goodness. We are getting used to the constant sweating and drinking lots of water. Today, we will head straight from work to a public pool that we found at the park. Any relief is welcomed!
Yesterday's heat relief was to go to Von's Snowball stand. Apparently "snowballs" are the big thing here in New Orleans. It's really fine shaved ice with flavors, like a snowcone. They had over 50 flavors. The most popular in our group was "Tiger's Blood" which is a mix of Strawberry and Pina Colada. Fun Times.
Please pray for the AC!
