Coming to WN @ LPC

On Wednesday, February 22, we’ll begin our Lenten “story”.  The youth group will be preparing pancakes for our meal before we go to the Sanctuary for our annual Ash Wednesday service.  Terry and Katie will continue on February 29 and throughout the month of March guiding us through a study of Sabbath, sub-titled “Finding rest, renewal, and delight in our busy lives.”

Join your Lakewood family for dinner on Wednesday nights in February as we do what all families do around the dinner table – tell stories!

February’s theme is Tell Me a Story – Again!

February 1 - Howard Beardslee will entertain us with a title – The Mind is a Funny Thing. Our menu will be burgers and brats, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw and apple pie.

February 8 - Roy Sharpe will join us again and tell us more about how Up the River North Carolina is a Funny Thing. Our menu will be a chicken/rice casserole.

February 15  - Our Lakewood Preschool will present the dinner and program – Kids are a Funny Thing! Crafts will be facilitated for our kids while the adults learn about the programs, staff and children of Lakewood PreSchool.

February 22 - We will begin our Lenten “story.” This is Ash Wednesday and the youth group will be preparing pancakes for our meal before we go to the sanctuary for our annual Ash Wednesday Service.

February 29 - Terry and Katie will continue facilitating our Lenten series.

During the month of March, Pastors Katie and Terry will be guiding us through a study of Sabbath, a book by Wayne Muller.  The sub-title says, “Finding rest, renewal, and delight in our busy lives.”  Please join us in this learning experience as we prepare for Terry’s sabatical and discover how we can also enjoy sabbath.
