The Conversation of Peter... - 8/30/2009

Sermon text: Acts 11: 1-18 & Galatians 2: 11-14

“I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow this day, until you have denied three times that you know me.” (Luke 22:34)  We are all familiar with these words Jesus spoke to Peter in those last hours they had together.  But just before Jesus says this, these words are spoken: “Simon, Simon, Satan demanded to have you that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail you.  And when you are converted again [have turned again], strengthen your brothers and sisters.” (Luke 22:31-32) ...
