The Best Gifts Are Free…Love - 12/22/2013

Sermon Text:  Isaiah 7:10-16 & Galatians 3:26-4:7

From the time the Wise Men of old brought their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the manger, Christmas has been a time of giving. I love that. I’m all for that … especially if the gift-giving is a part of our faith response to the greatest Christmas gift of all … God’s GIFT of the Savior to the world … God’s GIFT of the Christ Child to YOU and to ME.
As we’ve contemplated the gifts we will give and receive this year, the reality is: That the BEST gifts of all are the gifts that money can’t buy.
St. Paul wrote: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13) THAT’S IT! The BEST GIFTS are FREE … and what better gifts to give than the gifts of FAITH and HOPE and LOVE!
