The Anti-Stewardship Campaign - 11/11/2012

Sermon text:  Mark 12:38-44

We have a pretty wonderful preschool here at Lakewood. If you’re never here on a weekday morning, you should stop in sometime. The playground is full of little friends playing with great imagination. Ms. Mary, the science teacher, has toddlers in the garden. Ms. Ali, the art teacher, has them all smocked-up and ready to do messy art.
And on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Terry and I get to sing and talk with them about God. Here, in chapel.
It’s been one of the great surprises of my job description. I really didn’t realize when I came here to work with teenagers, that “other duties as assigned” would include teaching the littlest ones, the ones who are just learning letters, about God.
