24 Hours...You Might End Up Carrying It - 04/06/2014

Part 5 of our Lenten Series, 24 Hours That Changed The World

Sermon Text: Mark 15:15b-21

We are nearing the end of our Lenten series: 24 Hours That Changed the World. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had the opportunity to rethink the passion, suffering and death of Jesus in ways that I never have before. And it’s been leading us all to a place from which we CANNOT retreat … the shadow of the cross. Undeniably there will be those times when we walk the Via Dolorosa (the Way of Suffering and Sorrow) when we deliberately CHOOSE a cross … but there may also be those times when we have THRUST UPON US a cross NOT of our own choosing. So, on this, the Fifth Sunday in Lent, I declare this truth. Be sure to let it sink deeply into your mind and heart. This truth is not only a part of our Lenten journey, but it is a kind of parameter that defines the Christian walk. This TRUTH? “If you get too close to the cross … You MIGHT End Up Carrying It.” Read full sermon here (PDF)
