Your Heart and Walls – 10/3/2010

World Communion Sunday

Sermon text: John 4:4-9

Well class, it is time to put on your thinking caps. I am going to give you a pop quiz on the poem you see on the cover of the bulletin. The poem is “Mending Wall” by Robert Frost. I’m sure you all studied Robert Frost in high school English … Right? The question is: what is the “something” that the lines refer to? Listen carefully: “Something there is that doesn’t love a wall, that sends the frozen-ground-swell under it, and spills the upper boulders in the sun; and makes gaps even two can pass abreast.”Read full sermon here (PDF).
