Sermon text: Luke 12: 32-40

I want you to imagine for a few minutes this morning that you’re a fly on the wall in the home of some good friends of yours, privileged to watch the interactions of their daily lives. Think of it as “reality TV” among friends. You see them when they eat breakfast in the morning, you watch their children play in the family room, you see mom cooking dinner, and you see dad doing the dishes (he’s a good dad). It’s all pretty normal stuff that happens in countless homes in America. But it’s the conversation at the dinner table that catches you by surprise and will not let you go.
