Sermon text: Job 42: 10-17 & Matthew 28: 16-20

This is how Matthew ends his gospel, but it’s really a beginning: with the Risen Christ sending his disciples out into the world to be apostles.  Apostle literally means “one who is sent.”  John Calvin reminded us that we are the “Priesthood of believers.”  But we are also apostles to the world, every one of us sent into the world to preach, teach and heal … to do and to be the gospel. “Go, baptize, teach,” he says as he commissions us. ...
