Jesus Essentials...Judge Not - 7/12/2009

Sermon text: Matthew 7:1-5

Back a couple of months ago while I was working on sermon ideas, I began to think about some of the teachings of Jesus that might be considered as “important” or “vital” in our understanding and in our living out.  I came up with a pretty good list … it was rather long.  But then I began to cull it some … what are the truly “essential” things Jesus spoke of and what are the implications for our lives?  As I worked on this rather subjective list (thinking that it should be about a three part sermon series, not six or ten) three mandates emerged.  Thus the series I begin today and preach over these next three consecutive Sundays: Jesus Essentials …   Today: “Judge Not”. ...
