...Does God Care? - 12/20/2009

Sermon text: Job 19: 23-27 & 1 Corinthians 15: 12-22

I have a couple of confessions I want to disclose to you this morning. Here’s the first. Do you listen to fm 96.1 in your car or at home? They are playing Christmas music exclusively throughout the Holiday season. As you know, I love Christmas and especially the music of Christmas, but here’s my confession: Every time “The Little Drummer Boy” comes on (and they play it often) I switch the station to something else. I can’t stand that song (sorry David, and any other drummers in the sanctuary this morning). “Schmaltz” ... that’s the word I would use to describe it. I’ll take Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey over The Little Drummer Boy anytime! To those of you who like the song, I won’t hold it against you ... after all, it is Christmas.
