Sermon text: Luke 16: 19-31

Close Your Eyes… Lean Back… Let Go… If you’ve ever worked with, been in, or had a teen in a youth group, I’m sure you’ve experienced it or at least heard about trust games. What the creators of these games tell us is that trust building activities help people to develop mutual respect, openness, understanding, and empathy, as well as helping to develop communication and teamwork skills. My first experience in a trust game was at summer camp as a kid. Each of us was to take a turn, first facing away from the group, and then we were to just let ourselves fall backward … expecting to be caught by the others in our group. Taking that fall was NOT easy. Some of the kids couldn’t let go for more than a few inches before stopping themselves.
