Music Mission

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;

break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord."---Psalm 98: 4-6

We at Lakewood believe that music is an important avenue to worship God and edify ourselves. This belief in the power of music in worship goes back to the very beginning of our church history, and continues today.
As there are many aspects of God and God's creation, therefore we try to have many parts of the church music world into our worship services. On any given Sunday we may be blessed to hear the magnificence and reverence of the organ, the contemporary sound of our praise band, the voices of our choirs, and the ringing of bells and chimes/

Lakewood offers the following musical opportunities:

Chancel Choir--Wednesday nights at 7:30
Adult Handbell Choir---Wednesday nights at 6:15
Adult Handchime Choir---Tuesday mornings at 9:00
Children's Choirs---Sundays at 12:15
Youth Handbells and Youth Choir---Sunday evenings starting at 4:45
GraceNotes---Monday afternoons at 1:30

handsChildren’s Worship - “Helping Children Understand Worship”

The Children’s Worship leadership team encourages all children ages 5 through 3rd grade to participate directly following the Time with Children during the 11:00 o’clock service. Our new year kicks off on September 9th.With an abbreviated service, message and activity designed to reinforce the topic of the day, Children’s Worship provides your child the opportunity to become actively engaged in the worship experience

FW Friends - Monthly Children's Program
(Faith Weaver Friends)

FW Friends is a children’s ministry program designed for children from age 3 through 5th grades. Regular meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. We meet in the Coleman room for our story, and then break into age appropriate groups. We are still looking for a few more adult leaders to help, so if you are interested or would like more information, please contact Doris York at 993-2117.

Members of Lakewood Presbyterian Church consider themselves part of the family of God. We care for one another, share joys and sorrows, and regularly join together to thank God for all our blessings.

We encourage anyone who would like to know more about our church to call, visit, or send an email requesting information.
