Kids will rock at Kingdom Rock VBS (Vacation Bible School).

Kids will get the royal treatment at Kingdom Rock which will be held from June 10 – 14, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. right here at LPC. Registration will begin May 1, 2013. Paper registration forms will be available through the church office. Our program is designed for Children age 3 (potty trained) through children completing 5th grade. We’re praying this awesome VBS program will touch children’s hearts and lives with God’s love. Our goal this year is to reach 130 children through this dynamic program. In doing so, we will help kids in our community discover that:

God’s love helps us…stand strong!
Friends and family help us…stand strong!
Prayer helps us… stand strong!
Trusting God helps us… stand strong!
The Bible helps us… stand strong!

The kids will learn these points through worship, music, recreation, drama, crafts and snacks. They will also learn how to help others be strong through our mission outreach. Each day the children will visit the mission room where they can drop coins in their respective class jars. They can also bring in jars of peanut butter for UCOM. A brick on the mission room castle will be colored in for each jar of peanut butter collected. We will also be supporting Lea’s Place. Through our monetary donations we are teaching kids to help other kids stand strong in the midst of adversity. www.LeasPlace.org will give you more information about how this organization helps children in need. You will hear more about our mission efforts as we get closer to VBS. We believe that God will use this incredible program to reach many children with the message of his love, so please prayerfully consider your role in Kingdom Rock VBS. We are currently in need of a few adults to monitor our drama room. If you want to be a part of VBS, we will find the perfect task just for you. Feel free to contact Doris York through the church office at 733-8055 if you have any questions or would like more specific information.

Please note that there will be a meeting for all adults and youth volunteering for VBS on June 2 following the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Plan to attend as we will have announcements, instructions, and rooms will be assigned. A light lunch will be provided.

We are asking your help to fill our VBS Shopping List. Needed are:

200 chocolate & vanilla Pudding Cups
200 Capri Sun pouches
Individual packs of chips or assortment
12 canned vanilla frosting
6 boxes yellow cake mix
5 boxes Teddy Grahams
5 boxes Graham Crackers
5 one-pound bags M & M’s (plain)
4 large boxes Honey Nut Cheerios
4 bags Mini Marshmallows
3 large bags Pretzels
6 two-liter bottles Diet Coke
4 two-liter bottles Coke
7 bottles Minute Maid Lite Lemonade
4 cases bottled water

We are also in need of leftover plastic containers from Lemi-Shine or Crystal Lite. Watch out for Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) deals. Also don’t forget we will be collecting peanut butter for UCOM.

If you don’t have the time or energy to shop, no problem. Let us shop for you. Simply write a check to LPC nd in the memo line indicate VBS snacks.

Annual Baseball Night - 05/25/2013

Get ready an evening of baseball and LPC fun! We have reserved 40 seats on the Party Deck at the May 25th Jacksonville Suns game. Your ticket of $18/person will get you a game ticket and all-you-can-eat:

hot dogs
hamburgers
popcorn
soft drinks

Food is served from 6:00 - 7:15 with the first pitch at 7:05.

So… come join us and
enjoy some baseball and the fine companionship of our LPC family.

Please support our Justice Ministry in joining with 33 other congregations to help break the cycle of education shortfalls, youth crime, unemployment, and homelessness. LPC’s goal is 75 for the great Nehemiah Assembly at the Potter’s House on April 22. we’ll meet at LPC at 5:30 p.m. to catch the bus. Annual Undie Sunday Drive - March 3 to April 7

Undie Sunday Undie Monday, an annual clothing drive and fundraiser to collect brand new underwear for children. Faith groups, businesses, schools, civic associations, professional groups and others conduct campaigns within their organizations to collect the underwear. Faith Groups turn in what they’ve collected on Undie Sunday; businesses, schools and other groups on Undie Monday.

LPC’s Undie drive will run from Sunday, March 3 - Sunday April 7. Blue “Undie Bins” will be in the Narthex and Benz Hall, so get ready to Drop Your Drawers (into the bins) for a good cause. Contact Lori Appenfelder (Lori.cspjax@att.net) with questions.
