PEPS is going on a sweet adventure in February with lunch at the Candy Apple Cafe followed by a tour of the Sweet Pete candy factory. We will leave the church at 10:30 a.m. and take the Skyway to cafe. Reservations for the tour must be made in advance so please let the church office (733-8055) know by Monday, February 12 if you will be able to join us.
Once again, the youth are hosting our annual Sweetheart Dinner. This year they are adding live music for listening and dancing after the meal. Steve Birthisel's band will provide the entertainment. The cost will be $8 per person or $15 per couple. Mark your calendar for this fun event. Reservations will be needed, space is limited for this event. More details soon.

We welcome women to join us on Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the home of JoAnn Paylor for dinner and Bible study. You don't have to be part of the LPC family to join us. In response to the Christian lessons learned and love shared at this study, the women take up a collection and donate the funds to a needy charity. In the spirit of the New Year, we will be studying All Things New, which focuses on 2 Corinthians. It will be an 8-week study which will end March 8 (we will not meet on February 1).

The Sulzbacher Center is Northeast Florida's only provider of comprehensive services for homeless men, women and children. LPC extends the hands of Christ by preparing and serving dinner for those in need at this facility throughout the year. We invite you to join us to help those whom God loves. Grab your stretchy pants on Saturday, October 21, and come to the UCOM Fourth Annual Chili Cook-off at 5:30 p.m. at San Jose Church of Christ. Brian Mitchell and his son Brennan, Adair Owen, Dan Burns, and the Barnwells will be there representing LPC. Tickets are only $6 each or a maximum of $20 per family and are available through Sara Mitchell and UCOM volunteers. Chili not your thing? Hot dogs and corn bread will also be available. Several area businesses have generously donated items for the silent auction as well. Don't miss this great family-friendly event! Please join your fellow church members for a free luncheon after the single 10:00 a.m. worship service on October 8. You will have a chance to hear members of the Session and staff present aspirational plans and programs for 2018. As we enter our time of budget building for the next year, we all need to dream about the church we want to be and then work towards those dreams coming true. It is exciting, especially after our experiences with Hurricane Irma, to stop together and listen for God's will in our lives and the life of the church. Our menu will feature roast pork, hot German potato salad, green beans, assorted dark breads and black forest cake. Sign up on the Friendship Pad on Sunday under special activity or call the church office by noon on Monday, October 2, to make lunch reservations.
Oct. 4: Buckle my shoe 32! If you know what that means, then you are ready for our highly-competitive Bingo game this week. Join us for a fun night and see who will be crowned the newest champion.
