Those things that deserve our thanks and applause
If you have information about your ministry that you would like displayed, please contact Meg Shefield. Enjoy watching the photos pass by. You'll recognize friends, family, and perhaps yourself, happily engaged in good fellowship with each other.
The Kirkin' of the Tartans on January 29th was wonderful! The Florida Times Union posted pictures taken by our own Will Dickey and you can see them by clicking on http://jacksonville.com/slideshow/slideshows/2017-01-31/kirkin-tartans-lakewood-presbyterian#slide-1
Meals on Wheels needs drivers for the 1st, 4th and 5th Fridays and for the 5th Monday of the month. If you can spare some time to bring a hot meal to senior citizens in our community, please contact Marty Succi, LPC member, and Meals on Wheels coordinator.
There is a need for nursery volunteers who are willing to be in the nursery when the regular attendant is absent or to be a second person in the room with the attendant to meet child protection policy requirements. If you have had child protection training or are willing to be trained and could be a volunteer or substitute for nursery coverage on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings, please contact Lenora Wilson. It would be ideal to have a list of willing volunteers to provide coverage on a rotating or "as needed" basis.
Congratulations to U.C.O.M. for their recent award of Gold Participant status from Guide Star, a national organization that tracks and monitors nonprofit organizations. It is comforting to know as a donor that money donated to U.C.O.M. is reaching its clients. If you would like to review the report, or check on another charitable organization, visit Guidestar for more information. As always, U.C.O.M. appreciates your donations of money and non-perishable food.
